1.5 TPH Reverse Osmosis EDI Water System with Polishing Mixed Bed

1.5 TPH Reverse Osmosis EDI Water System with Polishing Mixed Bed

The 1.5 TPH Reverse Osmosis EDI Water System with Polishing Mixed Bed is a high-purity water treatment solution designed for industries that require ultra-clean and stable water quality. This advanced EDI water system integrates reverse osmosis (RO), electrodeionization (EDI), and a final polishing mixed bed to ensure the continuous production of ultrapure water with a resistivity of up to 18.2 MΩ·cm.

The system operates automatically with an Omron PLC control panel, ensuring continuous, efficient, and reliable performance for industrial, laboratory, and pharmaceutical applications.

Project Background

The client is based in Singapore and required a high-purity EDI water system capable of producing water with a resistivity of 18.2 MΩ·cm. The ultrapure water is used in a battery manufacturing plant, where consistent and stable water quality is essential for critical processes such as electrode preparation, electrolyte mixing, and precision cleaning.

To meet these strict requirements, Haiyuan designed a 1.5 TPH Reverse Osmosis + EDI + Polishing Mixed Bed system. This fully automatic system ensures stable ultrapure water production with low energy consumption, long membrane life, and minimal maintenance needs.

Process Flow of the Reverse Osmosis EDI Water System

Raw Water Tank → Booster Pump → Multimedia Filter → Activated Carbon Filter → Cartridge Filter → 1st High Pressure Pump → 1st Stage RO → UV Sterilizer → 1µm Precision Filter → RO Product Water Tank → pH Adjustment System → 2nd High Pressure Pump → 2nd Stage RO → EDI Booster Pump → EDI Unit → EDI Product Water Tank → Polishing Mixed Bed Booster Pump → Polishing Mixed Bed → Point of Use

This RO + EDI water system combines multiple purification stages to remove suspended solids, chlorine, salts, and ions—producing consistently high-quality ultrapure water.

  • Booster Pump – Increases pressure for pretreatment.

  • Multimedia Filter – Removes suspended solids and turbidity.

  • Activated Carbon Filter – Removes chlorine and organic matter.

  • Cartridge Filter – Protects RO membranes from fine particles.

  • 1st High Pressure Pump – Provides pressure for the first RO stage.

  • 1st Stage RO System – Removes up to 98% of dissolved salts and impurities.

  • UV Sterilizer – Disinfects and eliminates microorganisms.

  • pH Adjustment System – Regulates water pH for optimal EDI operation.

  • EDI Unit – Continuously removes remaining ions without using chemicals.

  • Polishing Mixed Bed – Further purifies the water to reach 18.2 MΩ·cm resistivity.

Features & Advantages of the EDI Water System

  • High Purity Water – Produces ultrapure water up to 18.2 MΩ·cm.

  • Continuous & Low-Maintenance – EDI operates without chemical regeneration.

  • Compact & Easy to Install – Containerized design for quick setup and transport.

  • Stable & Reliable – Premium components ensure long-term performance.

How to Choose the Right EDI Water System

  1. Feed Water Quality – Check TDS and hardness; high TDS may need two-stage RO or pretreatment.

  2. Required Water Quality – Decide between ultrapure (≥15–18.2 MΩ·cm) or deionized water (≥1 MΩ·cm).

  3. Production Capacity – Select a system that meets your daily water demand.

  4. Automation & Installation – Choose PLC-controlled, containerized systems for easy operation and compact setup.

  5. Support & Maintenance – Ensure manufacturer provides technical support and spare parts.
